Regular Meeting of the Common Council

February 24th, 2021, 5:15 p.m.

 

Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of Bloomer was called to order on Wednesday, February 24th, 2021, at 5:15 p.m. at City Hall, 1503 Main Street – Mayor Koehler presiding.

Roll call was taken:  Mayor Koehler, Aldermen Meinen, Reischel, Baribeau, Bauch, Administrator Frion and Attorney Gierhart were all present.

All present gave pledge to the flag.

Reischel made a motion to approve the minutes from the February 10th, 2021 regular meeting as presented.  Meinen seconded the motion and all present voted aye. 

Baribeau made a motion to approve all claims against the City and Utilities as presented.  Bauch seconded the motion and all present voted aye. The claims were in the amounts listed below:

Brian Nodolf, an attorney with Nodolf Flory, LLP representing Pat and Sandy Shadick, spoke in reference to the plat approval process for the Duncan Creek Estates.

Meinen made a motion instructing the City Administrator to make application for a Wisconsin Assessment Monies (WAM) grant through the WI DNR for the site assessment and clean-up of the contaminated parcels in the industrial park.  Baribeau seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Baribeau made a motion to convene into closed session pursuant to Wi. Stats. 19.85 (e) and (c) for “deliberating or negotiating the purchase of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session and to consider employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility.” (Acquisition of industrial park land and City Administrator evaluation).   Meinen seconded the motion.  Roll Call – Meinen, aye; Bauch, aye; Baribeau, aye; Reischel, aye.  Motion carried.

Meinen made a motion to reconvene to open session.  Reischel seconded the motion.  Roll Call - Meinen, aye; Bauch, aye; Baribeau, aye; Reischel, aye.  Motion carried.

No action was taken.

Motion by Meinen to adjourn.  Baribeau seconded the motion.  Motion carried.
