Regular Meeting of the Common Council

February 10th, 2021, 5:15 p.m.

 

Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of Bloomer was called to order on Wednesday, February 10th, 2021, at 5:15 p.m. at City Hall, 1503 Main Street – Mayor Koehler presiding.

Roll call was taken:  Mayor Koehler, Aldermen Meinen, Reischel, Baribeau, and Administrator Frion were all present.  Alderman Bauch and Attorney Gierhart was absent.

All present gave pledge to the flag.

Meinen made a motion to approve the minutes from the January 27th, 2021, regular meeting as presented.  Baribeau seconded the motion and all present voted aye. 

Baribeau made a motion to approve all claims against the City and Utilities as presented.  Meinen seconded the motion and all present voted aye. The claims were in the amounts listed below:

The City has received a complaint in regards to the heavy trucks that are going down 9th Avenue and cutting through Riggs Street to get to the Industrial Park.  This has been discussed at a previous Council meeting.  The truck drivers are just following the directions given on their GPS devices.  It may be worth reaching out to the businesses pass this concern along and have them provide a different route to get to their business.

Frion provided an update on the ALE (action level exceedance) regarding the lead service line replacement throughout the City.

Motion by Meinen to approve the job description for the Water/Wastewater Operator position and to move forward with posting for an open position within the Department at a starting wage of $18-$22/hour with a 6-month probation period with an annual increase as the rest of the employees receive.  Baribeau seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Motion by Meinen to adjourn.  Reischel seconded the motion.  Motion carried.
