Regular Meeting of the Common Council

November 11th, 2020, 5:15 p.m.

Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of Bloomer was called to order on Wednesday, November 11th, 2020, at 5:15 p.m. at City Hall, 1503 Main Street – Mayor Koehler presiding.

Roll call was taken:  Mayor Koehler, Aldermen Meinen, Bauch, Baribeau, Reischel, and Administrator Frion.  Attorney Gierhart was absent.

All present gave pledge to the flag.

Reischel made a motion to approve the minutes from the October 28th, 2020 regular meeting.  Meinen seconded the motion and all present voted aye. 

Baribeau made a motion to approve all claims against the City and Utilities as presented.  Bauch seconded the motion and all present voted aye. The claims were in the amounts listed below:

Administrator Frion thanked the Bloomer Girl Troop #3434 for the goodie basket on election day for the poll workers.  There were 242 election day registrations with an overall 90% turnout for the election.  Everything ran smoothly with no issues.  Frion thanked all the poll workers that worked during these trying times.  The tertiary treatment projects substantial completion date has been moved to Dec. 31st.

Meinen made a motion to approve a bid of $4,950 from Right Roll Painting for the interior painting of the Bloomer Memorial Golf Course clubhouse.  Reischel seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Meinen made a motion to approve a bid of $6,400 from Eau Claire Acoustic, Inc. for installation of acoustical sound panels at the Bloomer Memorial Golf Course clubhouse.  Bauch seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Reischel made a motion to install new lighting at the Bloomer Memorial Golf Course for the amount not to exceed $4,391 and to obtain the Focus on Energy rebates that are allowed for the project.   Meinen seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Baribeau made a motion to pay the Fire Inspector $20/hour with no mileage starting in 2021 for the City of Bloomer services.  Reischel seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Meinen made a motion to appoint Lynda Fechter to the Library Board to fulfill Patricia Stuckert’s term expiring April, 2021.  Reischel seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

Meinen made a motion to adjourn.  Baribeau seconded the motion.  Motion carried.
